Waste2Wear is the eco-friendly firm in Netherland that created the World's first collection of recycled fabrics from ocean plastic wastes via blockchain technology.

The company said "Plastic waste has to follow a long journey from the ocean to becoming a finished textile product, which requires several step-by-step data records.

Through implementing blockchain technology, they made the supply chain of ocean plastic fabrics fully traceable. They used plastics from the water and coastal areas of a small island near Shanghai. With the cooperative work with the local authorities, Waste2Wear built a business model allowing local fishers to earn money by recovering plastics from the ocean. And fishers are collecting more than three tons of waste from the sea each week.

However, Waste2Wear is not the very first to explore applying blockchain technology for ecological purposes. On September 4th, Germany's Free Democratic Party proposed paying crypto fo anyone who removes carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases from the atmosphere.

Blockchain technology these days is being used for an extraordinary impact on the environment. Many believe that it will solve the unsolvable plastic issues and other ecological problems.
