Samsung SDS announced its block chain acceleration technology at IBM's annual technology conference, IBM Think 2019, in San Francisco. Samsung SDS is targeting the enterprise block-chain platform market with its own block chain platform 'Nex Leisure', reported News1, a local Korean media. Nex leisure is a block-chain platform with real-time bulk trading, smart contracts, and management monitoring system and this platform is used in finance, manufacturing, logistics and the public sector. In order to improve transaction processing speed, which is a key consideration in applying block chain technology, Samsung SDS has developed its own Nexledger Accelerator, which can be applied to Hyperledger Fabric.
Hyperledger Fabric is an enterprise block-chain platform created by IBM providing source code to the Linux Foundation and is being applied to a variety of industries. Samsung SDS tested the Nexledger Accelerator in Hyperledger Fabric last December and found that the transaction processing speed was significantly improved. Samsung SDS plans to provide a white paper that includes the technology roadmap of Nexledger Accelerator for easy use by external developers and a tool for accelerated testing through github, a developer sharing site. Samsung SDS said that in Korea, export customs logistics service business based on KCS and block chain are pursued. Samsung SDS developed 'Nex Leisure Acceleration Technology' to solve 'transaction processing speed' which is considered a weak point of the block chain technology.
The acceleration technology can be applied to IBM's enterprise block-chain platform, 'Hyper Leisure Fabric', which confirmed its speedup in December last year. A white paper containing tools and technology roadmaps to test the Nex leisure acceleration will be available on the developer-shared site 'Herb Hub'. Meanwhile, Samsung SDS will participate in the IBM Block Chain Platform Committee, a group of industry leaders in the block chain.
