Viewpoints on Digitalization of Economy and Blockchain

In this revolution of digital technology, many global leaders and enterprenurs are eying on the digital technology development.World Economic Forum 2019 already stated its agenda focusing on the digitalization and fourth industrial revolution and has indicated that by the end of 2018, about half of the world’s population was connected to the internet - roughly 30 years after the invention of the World Wide Web. It has predicted that by 2022, an estimated 60% of global GDP will be digitized, yet a minority of people believe technology will make their lives better.

A lot of developments are happening in the field of digitalization and blockchain is still considered to be a game changer. The opinions from global leaders like Phil Chen, managing director of Presence Capital carries significance in this regard who says that Blockchain technology could take some power away from big tech firms.

With the objective of delving deeply in to the blockchain and digital research, Dubai is also taking interest. The National reported that Mohammed Al Gergawi, who is the Minister of Cabinet Affairs and The Future and managing director of the Dubai Future Foundation signed a deal to host research centre of the future in Dubai supporting the Fourth Industrial Revolution with a strategy to foresee the centre achieving a competitive economy based on knowledge, innovation and the application of emerging trends. It should be noted that bbefore the commencement of WEF 2019, JD Digits CEO emphasised that Digital Technology Helps Drive Fourth Industrial Revolution. The beginning of the year 2019 is seeing euphoria among the technocrats. Digital economy, tokenisation etc., is not a new word today but blockchain in this regard is going to be more researched.
